Georgian Bar Differences

We get asked the difference between "Authentic Georgian Bar" & "Georgian Inserts". In this quick article we will explain the difference between the two.

Georgian Inserts

Georgian Inserts

Georgian Inserts are fitted directly between the two panes of glass. This gives the impression of seperate panes of glass but with the advantage of still keeping one continous glazed unit, which keeps the cost low. There is also the advantage of being easier to clean as the bars are kept internal.

Authentic Georgian Bars

The other option are authentic or Astragal Georgian Bars. These are fitted externally on the glass and the glazed unit is broken into sections. This is an authentic reproduction of real Georgian Bars, which comes at a slightly higher cost, due to the extra materials and work required.

Whichever type of Georgian Design you choose, our team will be happy to show you samples of both and discuss which bar design is right for you.
