PROFILE – WHITE PVC-u

In consideration of the customer purchasing white PVC-u window profile product.
Tradeframe.com Ltd.’s guarantee, for a period of ten years from the date of supply, the optical and mechanical performance of their PVC-u window profiles, within limits defined by the British Plastics Federation (and within the limits defined by BS 7413) specification for high impact PVC-u hollow profiles, provided they are maintained and installed in accordance with the BPF/GGF Trade Standard for PVC-u windows issued 2 January 1989 and all other current codes of practice “as amended, re-enacted or extended at the relevant time”.

PROFILE – FOIL WRAPPED PVC-u

In consideration of the customer purchasing Foil Wrapped PVC-u profile product.
Tradeframe.com Ltd.’s guarantee, for a period of ten years from the date of supply, the performance of their foil wrapped profiles in accordance with the following descriptions, advice and qualifications.


Colour Fastness and Weathering
The foils are guaranteed for colour fastness and weathering to DIN 53387/54001 in Mid to Northern Europe (latitude 45° to 60°).

Adhesion
The foil is guaranteed not to bubble, shrink or delaminate from the profile to which it is adhered on it exposure to normally predicted changes in climate and atmospheric conditions of temperature and moisture within Mid to Northern Europe (latitude 45° to 60°) and in normally expected conditions within the home. No guarantees are given on its performance to other atmospheres, i.e. containing solvents, abrasive particles, etc.

Corner Treatment
Foil Wrapped Profile. Raised corner nibs are painted out with paint pens. No guarantee on the life or performance of this treatment are offered.

Cleaners
The foil wrapped profiles are guaranteed not to be affected adversely by the use of normal household cleaners, provided that manufacturers’ instructions are followed. Strong solutions of bleach and other chemicals should be avoided. A damp cloth should suffice for the safe cleaning of PVC-u profiles and foil wrapped profiles.

Durability
Excluding the aforementioned, no specific guarantees are offered on durability where this relates to tensile strength, tearing strength, impact resistance, abrasion, resistance performance under extremes of temperature, resistance to scratching or resistance to strains.

HARDWARE

All hardware is guaranteed for a period of two years from the date of supply, provided the hardware is maintained in a reasonable manner in accordance with the manufacturers instructions, namely all moving parts are lubricated with light oil every three months and are kept free from any grime and debris that may affect the functions of the product. On no account should abrasive cleaners/wire wool or any other similar cleaning aid be used.

No liability is accepted in respect of failure due to unfair wear and tear, incorrect operation or general wear and tear.

DOUBLE GLAZED UNITS

Double glazed sealed units supplied by Tradeframe.com Ltd are manufactures to BS 5713 and BS6206 kitemark standard and guaranteed for five years from date of supply.

This guarantee covers units that have been glazed/installed in accordance with Glass and Glazing Federation Guidelines, BS 6262 : 1982, Code of Practice for Buildings and its Amendments correct at the time of installation, and BS 8000 Part 7 : 1999 Workmanship on Building Sites, Code Of Practice for Glazing and its Amendments current at the time of installation.

The following exclusions are not covered by this document:

  • Sealed units used in special applications such as (but without limitation) transport vehicles, ships or temperature cabinets or those used at altitudes over 800 metres, or where they have been transported over such elevation, unless the cover has been specifically amended in writing to address the relevant specials application.
  • Sealed units that have not been maintained correctly in accordance with the recommendations.
  • Sealed units showing optical illusions or colour bands known as ‘Brewsters Fringes’.
  • Sealed units damaged immediately prior, during or subsequent to installation.
  • Stepped units where installation allows exposure to UV light.

NOTIFICATION OF DEFECT

The customer must notify, in writing to Tradeframe.com Ltd, the nature of alleged defect. Tradeframe.com will investigate any claim made under this guarantee or defective products and in doing so the company shall be acting as an expert and not as arbitrator. The decision of Tradeframe.com as to whether there is any such defect will be final and binding on the customer.

Tradeframe.com Ltd reserves the right of being allowed reasonable opportunity to inspect any defect on site, before any attempt is made to remove this product. Failure to comply could invalidate this guarantee.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE

In so far as the terms of this guarantee are inconsistent with the company’s standard terms and conditions of sale, the provision of this guarantee will prevail.

GENERAL

The sole and exclusive remedy with respect to the above guarantee or with respect to any other claim relating to defects or any other condition arising from the use of products supplied by Tradeframe.com, however caused, is limited to repair or replacement of such products at Tradeframe.com’s option.

Tradeframe.com Ltd does not make any other representations or guarantees and in no event shall Tradeframe.com be liable for any other loss or damage whether direct, indirect, special or consequential damages (including but not limited to the costs of reinstallation of the products).

  • “Nothing in this guarantee shall exclude or restrict the liability of Tradeframe.com Ltd for the death or personal injury from its negligence in so far as the same is prohibited by statute”.
  • “Nothing in this guarantee affects the statutory rights of consumers”.
  • This guarantee is only applicable when the resultant windows, doors and other fabricated products are installed in the UK, Channel Islands or Eire.
  • Tradeframe.com Ltd reserves the right to recover costs incurred by handling false claims.
  • This guarantee is personal to the customer and is not assignable by it.
  • This guarantee applies to any products purchased from the date of this guarantee. Items purchased prior to this date are covered by Tradeframe.com’s earlier guarantee.
  • The period of guarantee applies from the date of purchase from Tradeframe.com, i.e. date of invoice.
  • This guarantee covers only products supplied on a supply and fit basis
